Pilates and Flat Tummies

Pilates, Core Conditioning and Flat TummiesLaura took up Pilates in 1998 in the hope that it would make her slim quickly after she gave up smoking. Her post-cigarette weight gain didn’t vanish overnight, but she did get a flatter looking tum pretty quick. But more importantly, she found an exercise regime that she could do anywhere, anytime, that had both cosmetic and health benefits. Twelve years on, she’s still reaping these benefits - she enjoys having a flat (ish) tum without starving herself, and an absence of back pain (or any other joint-related injury), despite having pounded the pavements and carted dumbbells around for a decade.

Joseph Pilates put it beautifully when he said: "In ten sessions you will feel the difference, in twenty you will see the difference, and in thirty you'll have a whole new body."

Whether or not you want to improve your appearance so you appear taller and slimmer, or you're an athlete looking to improve your sporting performance and minimise your risk of injury, the chances are, with her extensive and diverse experience of teaching Pilates, Laura can help. Her ‘core’ clients include London's Serpentine Running Club and established running coaches and elite athletes, but also non-sporting clients who just want to alleviate back pain and locate long-forgotten stomach muscles.
