Take your cue from the experts
How do the experts keep themselves in good mental and physical health during the colder months?
The personal trainer
Laura Williams, a reformed smoker and couch potato, is a qualified personal trainer and pilates teacher who runs her own fitness company.
“As the temperature drops, I start looking for foxier classes to keep me in shape. I'll try some new urban dance class or a cheerleading class. I'm all in favour of ditching the free weights and using your own body weight as resistance to tone up with workouts such as burlesque and pole dancing. Plus, I'm far more likely to get a friend to join me for pole dancing than I am for spinning. And I always buy new workout gear come Autumn. There's nothing worse than dragging yourself to the gym in the dark in last year's fleeces. I opt for brightly coloured, flattering bits.”
